NO CAMPING AT CUMBRIA SHOW VENUE

Look lads (and lassies) I am not creating segregation. All I have done is to organise a Lakes Tour for Mk1 and Mk 2 Escorts, Capri’s, Cortina’s, etc (some of which are not RS vehicles). There are 70+ cars entered to do the tour, which is being done to celebrate 30 years of the Mk1/Mk2 Escort. Participants are paying an entry fee to do the tour, which includes camping and a meal. It has nothing to do with the R.S.O.C. and is in fact being sponsored by Retroford and organised by myself and other members of the Cumbria Group.

In order to make the tour work, I had to organise camping and some sort of meal at the end of the day included in the entry fee for those that have travelled a long way to be part of the Cumbria Lakes Tour and are also showing their cars at the show on Sunday. Miles at the Heaves Hotel is allowing me to have camping in the hotel grounds with conditions:-

Only participants of the tour can camp at the hotel.
No BBQ’s.
Camping is by ticket only (distributed to all participants on the day).
The hotel will provide a meal for all participants after the tour).

I have spoken with Trudi Shepherd today about the subject of camping at Regional Shows and the R.S.O.C. does not support this in any way at show venues.

So I’m sorry if I have upset anyone, but there is definitely NO CAMPING IN THE HOTEL GROUNDS for anyone other than those entered to do the Lakes Tour on the Saturday.
