Top stuff great help. I havent got the motor infront of me at the mo. We have 2 motors to try and will use which one is best. They both have slightly different colour wires coming off them. From memory one of the motors has Red, Green a few Browns and 2 Black with purple traces. I am wiring this into a brand new loom so need to know which ones are power and switch etc etc?

holding the plug with the conector pins facing you and with three pins at the top and 2 on the bottom starting from left to right ,

number 1 of three pins is 2 black wires

number 2 or three pins is black and green strip wire

last pin is red wire with light green stripe

remember that the escort wiring loom is the basic of devices mate and you might need to connect the heater fan plug for your wipers to work , also the foot operated washers need to be connected to complete the circut to the fuse box , heater fan fuse and windscreen wipers are on the same fuse circut as well

Thanks for your help so far Chris. Non of the above wires seem to be the same colours as what we have got. We have got the foot pump thing but we dont want to use that on the new system. Basicly this is a rally car so we have started a brand new loom and will be using toggle type switches to operate, so non of the original loom will be used.

I have to go and do a bit more work on the car later so i will get the wire colours of what we have on each motor.

Hi Chris Just had a look at both wiper motors which we know are definatly good ones.

The wiring is as follows.
Coming out of the main motor body is Red, Green and Black/Violet (or pos White)
And on the smaller box joined to the motor was 3 Browns and 1 Black/Violet or white
Also tagged to the back of the main motor body was a Black wire that looks like it went to earth.

On the second motor of the 2 the wiring is as follows:
Green and Black/White coming our of the main motor
Black/White and 3 Browns coming out of the smaller box that is joined to the main motor.

I hope this makes sense to you.
