Hi, Im new on here.
I have a standard Mk5 Escort RS2000. I'm looking to start tuning it for somthing to do over the winter, if It's worth doing it? A friend of mine who is a mechanic said the engine is hard to tune. how much potential does the 150bhp engine have? I'd be looking to tune it to over 200bhp, if possible. Or would I be better off with a cosworth engine? Cheers |

rs2000 i4 engines are hard to tune and get good power out of as not many have been done
The list of mods to reach 175bhp roughly would be full exhaust system de-cat filter super chip not much improvement Other mod would be a 2.3 conversion you use the galaxy or scorpio bottom end quite a bit of modication work 2.3 engine with alot of work would be knocking on the 200bhp but again is costly You could go down throttle body route with custom management or even the turbo route which will set you back alot of money, ive seen a 2.3 turbo rs2000 4x4 and that was pushing 350bhp, but he had ploughed over 15-20k into it
